The Year that was.....

You know you have hit a new phase in your life when your better half suggests you need phsychiatric help ;-) Life has been a mad mad roll in 2007. Here is my official annual update (which seems to be the fun thing to do these days as Xmas rolls by).

We started 2007 fresh from having found out we are going to be parents soon. Of course it wasn't like we hadn't thought through how it would be to be parents ....but the reality hit us.....errrrr....me (to be specific) hard..With parents and family on a new high, Hari and I went off to Goa for a vacation we had planned a while back. I pensively sipped into my Margaritas on the Pristine South Goa beaches and picked on little starfish in the sand and the long weekend seemed to fly by without realizing. Hmm....as it turned out....the vacation was a babymoon

After being back in Mumbai, I quickly realized that I had so not made the most of Goa and its lovely beaches.....So we quickly planned another trip back there to re-do our babymoon without me being dazed this time around :-). Employee discounts from Hari's employer - a travel company came in handy! Goa was a blast this time around....

Then came the phase when Hari and I struggled to stay away from partying, eating Chinese food, trying to avoid (unsuccessfully)Thai food and not traveling thanks to our Gyneac's advice.

Time ticked on very slowly as I kept getting bigger, grumpier and on a permanent short fuse (Sorry Hari:-))

Finally July came along and amid massive confusion as to what our due date would be, Antara waltzed out in true style. The next 3 months were a dizzying routine of feeding, putting to sleep, changing and cleaning (which unlike popular perception is not that tough to get used to...).

The last quarter of this year has been the phase when Hari, Antara and I have come to a happy medium. We hang out with most of our friends at home so Antara doesnt miss us, I have gotten back to work, we took 4 month old Antara to Bangkok with us, watched tons of DVD movies (Jab We Met rocked) hosted a fun Xmas party with my sis, our friends and her friends as well and even got back to our beloved Golds Gym (working out on the weekends). One thing to note is that, we now find ourselves singing Nursery rhymes in our shower!!!!!!!!! (Not sure if I have come to terms with that though)

The other cool happening this year was seeing the transformation of my sis from the baby of the house to the responsible and loving aunt (am still floored by the responsible bit ;-)) as well as the babysitting t0 make room for Maya & Hari's clubbing urges, and other cool stuff like getting off her ass (finally) and buying a guitar, signing up for salsa lessons and cool stuff like that......

I has taken a while getting used to the new life but we are thrilled to now be a table of 3 and cant picturize life without Antara.....so all is well....(do i still need physchiatric help?? Lets wait and see:-))

BTW, The first annual update I had seen was a few years ago from dear friend Aarts. This year has kind of been out of control....a very sweet fun annual recap from Amy & Henry; A whacky annual update of demographics and phycographic breakdown of their friends from collegue Samir; and a tripped out up update from Tina and Nasir....

That was a great post. An amazingly long year. I can't believe we fit all of that into 1 year. Hope next year is as fun.

New yr resolution - get more sleep!
