So, I have had an overwhelming number of requests (exaggeration here made to inflate the supposed readership of my blog) to share more about my experiences of going to be a mom and stuff. I think it became obvisous to many that maybe I wasnt being so free with information about the pregnancy and baby stuff.... so here goes..
Hari and I went to our sonography a few days ago - The baby is doing well and the doc says...it is moving about a lot!! I could have told him that, given that I face the brunt of an overactive baby's internal squirming every time I turn on my side to sleep comfortably at night. Anyway, the baby looks great. We noticed she / he has Angelina Jolie kind of lips. For its own sake, I hope the baby is a she now :-).
My mom has been actively sorting out our life this trimester - After a tap into her tamil friends network and a few 10s of phone calls, she hooked us up with a fantastic south Indian meal delivery (dabba) service for dinner each night. Hari has been working long hours and I have been dissipating my energy during the day at a rapid pace. So not having to cook at night and yet coming home to a hot home cooked meal is a blessing! Mom has also lined up a nanny for use once the baby is here. I think I need a seperate post dedicated to mom to do justice to how amazing she is!
I now am puffy, round and waddling like a penguin. I typically throw my hands up in the air and just wait for Hari to get up when the doorbell rings or when something falls down or at any point for that matter.....
Hari mimics me and follows me around walking like a penguin swaying from side to side and cracks up laughing half way through :-(
Life is on the cusp of change for us. I think we are going on with the motions knowing this but I dont think it will fully hit us or sink in until the baby is here. These are the last two months of Hari and my DINK status and we plan to maximize it to the fullest. Do I hear another cocktail party plan coming about?........
