De-stressed all right!

The two week de-stress period definitely helped. The first week was pure @home vegetation, long afternoon naps and re-connecting with the social world to let everyone know i was still alive. It was awfully hard to stay away from the cursed blackberry but that is now another mastered skill
Come Saturday, Hari and I were off to the train station (long time dream come true). I think its had been atleast 7-8 years since I had travelled in a long distance train (in India). Eurail and TGV dont count. They cant match up up to the three tier sleeper trains we have with the colourful vendors bring Chai and Nescafe and Idli-vada and biryani!!

Anyway, the train journey was an overnight one and went very smoothly for me at least. Some others whose limbs stretch quite far beyond the end of the sleeper birth had trouble :-) but all in all, we were fresh and awake and reached Goa at 10am. A short taxi ride later, we were in the middle of paradise....nothing beats lush tropical 5 Star Luxury with a Portuguese touch....
We had a cute little garden view villa at the corner of the property.

The resort's beach was amazing with tons of tall waves and so ware the other beaches down the coast. After a rather humungous breakfast (mainly bcos we could not choose and hence ate everything!! Idlis, cheese, parathas, breads, juices, fruits, muffins and waffles) we would slowly roll over to the town and go chill on Baga beach or Calangute....After getting a swim, some beers from Hari and a foot massage for me, we would roll into a nearby shack for a light lunch. Then back to our cottage for Siesta (or whatever they call Siesta in Portuguese) and life went on...

3 days in, we drive a couple of hours to the far south of Goa to another resort...this one in the middle of a small village with nothing outside the resort. the resort and the beach it housed were the star attractions...
We spent most of our time in the pool; tried every activity there was to partake in - archery, table tennis, pool. We tried every single restaurant at the resort. Our favourite was a mediterranian one which served a nice mezze and a paella against a setting of a authentic Goan Mariacchi band none the less :-).

Goa was a spoonful of paradise. It did what it needed to...

The baby started kicking in Goa so I am sure he is likely to be a beach bum like Hari and I ;-)
Here is an ugly pic of me with the bump if you are curious.....and a wind beaten picture of Hari and I
