Time flies....

It seemed like just a few weeks ago that I wrote the last blog. But my blogger tool reminds me that in fact it has been over 5 months.....geez! But the 5 months have been the 'slog my butt off to keep my dignity at INSEAD time'!! So that has been the reason for our gaping absence on the www.

I must share some interesting snippets of Hari and my activities at our MBA program at INSEAD. Hopefully my endless and not well connected rambling will take the shape of a story at some point.

INSEAD since the minute we got there has been a party heaven. Since the school is in the middle of the French countryside, students typically get together for large parties in chateaus for entertainment. And the first 6 months at INSEAD have been a string of endless fantastic dance parties. It was a breath of fresh air from the predominantly hip-hop dance numbers in the US. Even Hari got into the groove regularly!!!:-)

Aside from partying of course, we did do some serious studying.....(yeah right!). Hari and I were somewhat well known even before we came to INSEAD because we were 'the couple that both made it to school at the same time. We enjoyed our mini-celebrity status at school during the first few weeks. In fact, we were quite relieved to have been alloted different sections or else we would have extended our intellectual disagreements to the classroom as well (yikes). But 2 different classes also meant two different set of friends and dinner parties and conversations and hence double the social / networking advantage for Hari and I. Aha! the true strategy of our simultaneous MBA plan comes to bear:-))))

The slog began close to February at school. Each term is two months long with the first two terms having 5-6 exams at the end. Dark circles, speed reading and red bull became the standard in all our lives. Hari and I were determined to not stop there. We entertained friends furiously. Friday evenings was dinner at Chez Hari and Maya's day. We had a lovely cottage in a village in the middle of the woods (Arbonne la Foret) and a lovely landlady who had tastefully and artistically done up the house. Hari and I would rush back from school on Fridays and cook various Indian eats in two hours flat. If the MBA doesnt work out, being chefs could certainly be an alternate profession for us:-)

The first term came and went before we knew it. We took our exams and came to terms with the fact thet we werent the most brilliant folks on campus. Life went on.....after all there were more parties to attend and dinners to host. We could not afford to dwell on anything for too long.
