So we finished our first term and rushed outside our school's Freddy's bar (a midsized bar with overpriced alcohol mainly used by the executive MBA folks)and sprawled ourselves on the lawn in the freezing cold and had a champagne party. Of course, I bought myself a can of diet coke to try and fit in (as if!)
Afterwards, the entire student body seemed to part in two like the splitting of the sea. One bunch including moi headed off to Barcelona in search of some sunshine and quality partying (since we have so little of that at INSEAD) and the other bunch headed off to Chimonix ski resort in France bordering with Switzerland to catch the last snow of the year. There were some stragglers that wanted to do their own thing (how dare they!!) and decided to visit other exotic lands.
Barcelona was a lot of fun..No sun though; just rain:-(
After returning, noses to the ground, Hari and I were studying hard. We wanted to take a break from Entertaining for a few weeks (By now we felt like Bawarchis) and instead we ended up getting invoted to dinners at other folks place..so we just kicked back and enjoyed it:-)
Assignments and readings and group work got to a point where tensions ran high and arguments about interest rates, discounting factors, target segments, corporate strategy etc gripped the entire campus.
We slept no sooner then 2 am each night. For sure nerdy times were here to stay....
