Of Tags and Dreams

So Sreejita has tagged me (how fun!) and asked me to write about my dreams (the sleeping kind).

Now, speaking I am not much of a dreamer, other than the days when I have overeaten by massive proportions:-). Side question: Did you know that dreams are most often caused due to indigestion?
Anyway, the few times that I have had dreams, they have been violent, morbid and generally involving a family member. I am honestly not sure what to make of it. If you have any ideas, definitely comment!

There has been one such dream which seemed to go on for hours. In the dream, Hari was an innocent victim of a clash between factions of a violent local political party in Mumbai. He was stabbed and taken to a local hospital....I got a phonecall from a good samaritan and in true Hindi movie style, I ran on the streets in panic, all the way to the hospital (which in reality is a 45 min car ride in non commute hours). Anyway, Hari is fine, it was just a dream and we had a good laugh over it.

Anpther dream I had a few years ago, when I was living in California, had slightly more embarrassing consequences. I had one of those early morning 4am kind of dreams. It was my dad this time around. Its been a while...I cant remember exactly what happened in the dream but it was some kind of disaster. I remember I had woken up in a sweat. It felt so real. i had to make sure my dad was ok. I called his office landline. Landlines in India didnt typicallyhave caller id at the time....of course, just my luck, my dad's company was in the monority that had caller id. My dad saw a call at 3.30 pm from his daughters house in california. He picks up with a hurried-worried hello? and having heard his voice and ascertaining that he was ok, I put the phone down. Blank calls happen all the time....i thought to myself. I had hardly turned away from the phone to go back to bed, that the phone rang. I froze....picked up and of course it was a very very worried dad....I couldnt come up with any intelligent reason for calling so just told him, I must have speed dialed accidentally since the hone was next to me.....INGENIOUS!!! :-(
Dad probably thought I was starting to lose it...

Anyway, no such dreams in recent times.....not while i was pregnant, not now.....I am generally so tired by the time i hit the bed that no bad dreams dare enter my head...

Ok, so that was my dreams story. I tag Hari, Priyankka and Rayo......Dream on......

Thank you, i'm quite honoured. My blog is mostly written for me, by me...and i had no idea it would be liked by anyone outside of my own consciousness. Hug. Welcome to parenthood.
